A new medicine has been introduced to treat Keratinisation, an acute skin disorder and is an organic process by which keratin is deposited in cells and the cells become horny (as in nails and hair). In this process, the cytolplasm of the epidermis is replaced by Keratin. This can continue to grow and results in solid structures.
To treat this disease, rare medical combinations have been introduced. This is a very important medicine needed to treat acute as well as chronic skin disorders like keratinisation, ichthyosis, palmoplantar keratoderma, psoriasis, morphea, vitiligo, acanthosis nig-Ricans, Grovers disease and lichen sclerosus atropicus. The medicine is a combination of calcipotriol+betamethasone. Calcipotriol is a Vitamin D3 derivative acting through Vitamin D receptors to regulate cell growth, differentiation and immune functions.
